Community School, The Nature School, Local Learning - Allowing children to learn within their social environment 
The Source Farm’s Nature School approach to education is to create a community school where the students can learn about their environment in a participatory way, as opposed to the chalk-and-talk style of conventional education. Nature School students spend a large amount of time outside of the classroom, learning from the natural world around them. We use a Montessori style of learning, which allows children to develop their critical thinking skills and to develop a relationship with the environment around them. Children will then use these same skills to navigate the world.

The First Congolese Ecovillage

KIYAYA Ecovillage is a 4 hectare Ecovillage to be constructed in Kiyaya in the eastern region of Kivu in the DRC. KIYAYA is a small hill located between the majesteous Mitumba mountains and the Lake Tanganyika in Uvira, a small city neighbouring Bujumbura capital city of Burundi.

KIYAYA Ecovillage aims to sensitize the congolese people on the importance of preserving environment by organizing trainings and seminars.

It's a project of 30 houses constructed in a traditional style with a hall at the top of the hill where various conferences and seminars can be held.

Zajezova is a widely spread village consisting of small groups of settlements. The greater part of its original inhabitants has gradually moved away during the second half of the 20th century. From 1991 several NGOs have started to be active in Zajezova – their focuses being traditional handicrafts, folk architecture and environmental issues. These NGOs have attracted (and are still attracting) a great amount of people, of which some decided to settle in Zajezova and its surrounding settlements. The number of inhabitant in Zajezova has been growing since then.
